whoever would have thought that my little 600-something square foot apartment/yard could hold 50 people at once? surprise. it happened. the party wasn't much fun, as i was too busy running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but it was a huge success according to those in attendance :) cheers to warmed homes!

more jet ski action this weekend, two days in a row, two jet skis in fact, and my shoulders are much the sorer as a result. i did figure out how to do a 360 without throwing myself off. luckily was offered a back rub last night, by some good strong and beautiful hands, and i feel MUCH better, not to meniton i apparently "have good hands." so cheers to back rubs as well -

(one massage a week is all i'm asking)

i'm finished with school officially. now what? any suggestions?
(cross your fingers for the travel agency position...)

my free cable is gone! ah, but when i can sit on my bed, smoke a cigarette, and watch the 10 channels i still do have, it makes it all worth while. knew there had to be a concession hidden in this move somewhere -

i'm still debating getting a kitten. in fact, i will go look and see if i can find notice for free kitties in the paper.

this past weekend a pimp new record store opened up next to the opolis. cheers to kathleen's husband travis for getting that off the ground! people were milling all around outside. norman has a scene, its so great! like oprah is saying over my shoulder, feel the love. check it out, its on crawford north of main.

sunday i got to ride on a jetski :) wee!

that's all i got. love!

ok so this is officially the happiest i have been in a really long time. i have to appreciate it while i can -

this weekend i went to the woody guthrie folk festival in okemah, oklahoma, with some buddies from school/around norman. we camped out under the stars and played music and walked and talked... it was SO amazing. i can't even begin to describe the good vibes there in the town. i have a complete renewal of love for my guitar (she has been so neglected the past 6 months), i jammed out with lots of talented musicians, and jumped on a conga drum a few times. it was so wonderful! someone even REQUESTED to hear me play! that has never happened before, i couldn't believe it.

met some cool kids that live and work on an organic farm in tahlequah, which sounds like an awesome lifestyle. this one girl, sage, has the greatest voice i've heard in a long time. really deep and gruff, and so easy to blend with. we worked out some good harmonies on patsy cline - also a girl named rachel from missouri somewhere, there traveling with her boyfriend. lots of kindred spirits to be had. and i bought some tasty-smelling essential oils.

sunday night was the summer breeze at lyons park, and if you missed it, you have my sympathies. i danced in a crazy circle with four little girls, and i felt like i was 5 all over again. except with beer and cigarettes.

moving soon! can't wait to get in my new place - i think i'm going to have a picture hanging party. and the girls and i are going to start doing yoga in my backyard on early weekend mornings.

love to all the good children!

off i go!

hmm. insomnia bit me with a vengence last night. i was tossin' and turnin' until the wee hours of dawn. definately not a desireable situation when you have a test at 10am, but i did pretty well despite lack of rest. and even had the energy to sit and write an hour's worth of email replies. (watch your boxes, folks)

good news for me, found a cheap little place to move into. norman will remain my home for an undeterminable amount of time. no lease, so i can come and go as i please. and have a kitty! i found a kitten two days ago that fits in the palm of my hand, no lie.

i had all the interesting questions to pose, stuff i thought about while tossing and turning, but now they're gone. c'est la vie. and my tummy is growling. lunch, ho!

house warming party next month, keep your ears open, you can come smell my pretty rose bushes.

Back and better (?) then ever.

Cable tv is the devil. Seriously. It sucks you in and never lets you go. I'm addicted to Oprah, and The Real World, and Sex and the City. Such is my life.

So an update is in line I suppose? Not much exciting goes on in my life, as has been shown by lack of musings over the last five months. I'm still in college, barely. Last class in the works right now. I don't have a job yet, but I'm looking. My lease is up at the end of the month, and unless something better pops up, I'm moving home for awhile. Farewell, dearest Norman. Profusion of commas, and hanging fragments, in this paragraph.

Two big jobs I have applied for are hopeful at best, and in light of possibly jinxing the situation, I will not say what they are. One would allow me to live where I love, one would allow me to work for something I love, and neither will likely hire me :) But I'll stay optimistic for now. I am a marketing guru, after all. My resume is ripe and ready to be picked.

On a cruise with a friend a few weeks back I discovered a wayside one lane bridge in south-central oklahoma. It crosses the Canadian river. We parked on the side, and climbed down a steep slope to the water's edge. We were rewarded with warm water that we could wade in, up to our knees, but watch out, you sink if you stand still - sand plums, tart and tangy, an elusive coocoo bird (totally spelled that wrong), and fresh corn from a roadside stand. We passed through many small and seemingly deserted towns. Towns that had once been something, main streets with old general stores, post offices, beauty parlors, but the building all now grown-over and broken down and withered. is that all that remains after the passing of time? faded painted advertisements for smith's tonic on a crumbling brick wall? what happened to the people that lived there?

After wandering for awhile we drove to Shawnee, and had some tasty mexican food under ominous thunderheads, and met a most amazing man. I shook his hand, wished him luck, and my friend gave him a bottle of gatorade. You can read about his incredible journey here. Now there is a guy that has life figured out.
