california will be under my feet tomorrow at 1pm, pacific standard time. i am all packed and ready, thanks to american tourister vacuum seal giant ziplocky bags, and a cute new suitcase i bought at target for half off.
they also have awesome flipflops for $2.99, i bought 'em flaming red, and mondo cute swim suits. i got a two piece with a halter top and side-tie bottoms, red with multicolored crochet over the top. think macrame, but cooler. it makes it look as though i have a chest. this is an amazing thing. i finally get to wear my floppy brimmed hat and blue fringe wrap. so i had to sit on my suitcase by the time i was done packing, but its all good, because i can shop as much as i want and cram my purchases into the back of dad's accord to keep me cozy company on the long drive home.

i will be on the beach in THREE days!

p.s. and i won't be returning to oklahoma until around first of the month. miss me, won't you?

the break has come on a new day, after close to two weeks of holing up in bed with only television and dr. thunder for company, i don't feel so close to despair anymore.

there are two finals to go, and then my "graduation" - which doesn't feel real at all considering I still have to complete 6 or so hours to be official. the party will come when I have the diploma in hand. last night i was talking it over with my dear friend amber, and she was so much more excited about it them i am. i guess given her retrospective point of view, remembering back to when she graduated from OU in '96, she just thinks I have so much to look forward to. maybe I do. as we agreed, the world is my oyster.

i live in constant anticipation of an upcoming hiatus from oklahoma, something that will serve to be a release before i come back and commit myself to two more months of mindless busines courses. katie and i fly to LA on the 15th, to spend 3 days with my dad at his graduation in the hills there near ventura. then its two days on the beach, katie leaves me, and i embark on a driving adventure to the north to see a dear friend and receive a much anticipated run-and-jump-embrace. a week on the wharf, strolling in haight, with a china town and the steps of st. mary's waiting for me. i want to again walk the streets of a busy city alone and watch the people. i can already smell the ghiradelli - and see his squinty-eyed smile.
