tonight was happy dance times by way of a jacob fred jazz odyssey show at lyon's park. whoever came up with that whole summer breeze concert series concept is a genius. a random little girl that i smiled at ran up to me, climbed on my lap, and gave me a giant hug. then she latched onto my breast rather uncomfortably for support on the climb down. her mother told me i looked like her aunt, thus the hug. either way, free hugs from little girls, preferable minus the feeling up, are always welcome. warm fuzzies.
japanese food was then offered, but graciously declined, in favor of washing my one change of work garb for the machine tomorrow. lunch shift starts at 11, can't be late. at least i won't be hung over this time. the rich yuppie ladies can get their quiche without the counter girl running to puke up last night's party.
(too much information? too late now.)
the job front is leaving something to be desired, but that was of course expected, given the state of our great nation's economy. i did finally a get a rejection letter. it's nice to be acknowledged. on the agenda this week, trying to contact the gazette (again) and calling a lady my mom knows at citadel communications, i.e. the radio people that do the spy and the katt. good thing i found this connection, since clear channel was one of the aforementioned non-acknowledgers of my resume. rough to be the college grad.
so did i mention i got a part time job? lunch shifts at la baguette. i get free coffee and the left-over bagels, plus tips. not a bad gig. it leaves me time to mooch around in the help wanteds, when we're slow after lunch. come have some cheesecake with me at brookhaven, should you be so inclined. lunch shift (11-4) M/T/Th/F.
i got a kitty. her name is PK. i found her at the library bar, thus the name PK (pink's kitty). its soothing to walk in the house and call "PK PK!" and receive a galloping meowing response by something small and fuzzy who is just looking for love.
all you need is love~

why is there a horsefly buzzing around my room?
why did jewel change her style to shitty commericialized pop? where she sings for pepsi?
why are there little black ants EVERYWHERE?
my landlord just received his mail order bride from russia. no lie. he said he'll come put down ant poison as soon as she finishes cleaning his house. she's been here for two days, and only slept about 5 hours. he's waiting for the opportunity to slip her a valium so she'll sit the fuck down.
i did see a monarch butterfly when i walked out front to check the mail. at least some things still make sense.

i adopted a stray, who was living on the patio at the library and eating left-over pizza crust. her name is PK (pink's kitty), and it cost me $84.75 to take her to the vet yesterday. i so don't have that kind of money. but she is a good sleep buddy - curled and soft and quiet.
i still don't have a job. i had an interview scheduled today, but i didn't go. when i read what the company does i got scared. i don't want to be a corporate wench. especially not when it requires a 45 minute+ drive. so still looking. sent out 15 resumes so far. don't tell me how you sent out lots of resumes but never heard back, i need only optimism these days.
day before yesterday i went and saw Winged Migration at the theatre with some green-thumbed boys. it was a really good documentary. check it out if you have a chance.. it will likely be in Norman for all of a week, if we're lucky.
everyone keeps talking about enrolling. i don't have to do that anymore! nah nah.
love!
